I discovered cardiovascular fitness in my second year at University. The stress had started to build and my weight had crept up, I needed to ‘get fit’! So I started going to the gym.
The feel good hormones and stress release it gave me got me hooked (I didn’t realise at the time how I actually benefited enormously from it mentally).
I kept up my training from that point. With injuries such as hamstring tears and back surgery I cross trained from running to cycling to swimming and fitness classes.
So for me as a Yoga instructor, further training as a PT and the bodypump and RPM was a natural progression.
After my back surgery in 2016 I knew I needed to strengthen my back, not a fan of spending an hour alone with free weights I started Les Mills bodypump and loved it.
The strength and tone it gave me while working out to music with others – such a buzz! And RPM I’ve done through my life to lessen the load on my spine through running – I get the same high aerobic workout and endorphin rush!
I’m excited to be on this journey to bring Les Mills classes to others and share my passion.
I coach for RLJ, which I love. This has brought together my love of running and training outside with my teaching.
